Inherent in the Rhumb Line

I am definitely going to see this.

All maps are inherently metaphorical; they are political tools constructed through historical contingencies that require interpretation. Impositions that model behaviour, and the generality that paradigms evoke, consistently interest Weiner. Inherent in the Rhumb Line questions metaphorical understandings of the world.

Fischli & Weiss: A Retrospective

I went to see this exhibition at the Tate Modern on Tuesday with Dan. The videos were really good, like the one with household products used to affect other objects in the manner of that Honda advert… and the Rat and Bear one but I didn’t really know what was going on, it was just kind of funny.

These are a few of the things I liked:

This one above and the two below, like all the other photos, had really funny or imaginative captions, but I can’t remember any of them. Alas.

I remember this photo was called something like ‘mother gives father the freshly ironed shirt, whilst the boy smokes outside’.
